If you own a leasehold property, you will need consent from your landlord before you can progress with a solar panel installation. If you own a share of freehold property, you may require consent from other freeholders before installation, depending on who owns the roof space. Please make the relevant enquiries prior to booking an installation.
Installations on a flat roof are more complex in nature due to the requirements for specific mounting systems to ensure the correct orientation. Unfortunately, we are not currently offering this type of installation.

The process for listed buildings and properties located in a conservation area is slightly more complex and you must obtain listed building consent and/or conservation area consent. This will require the engagement of an architectural firm, and/or a planning consultant – please refer to our guide for more information on this. Once you have consent for this, we look forward to hearing from you. Note: You can still get solar energy with us, but you won’t receive the Halifax Green Living Reward cashback. You will still benefit from a free Energy Performance Certificate and from reduced energy bills.
