Knowing we’re quality assured is reassuring for our customers. It gives you peace of mind that you’ve made the right choice in Effective Home.
We are proud to be certified and approved by industry leading assessors, registration
bodies and consumer watchdogs, including NICEIC, OFTEC, Gas Safe, TrustMark and MCS.
The Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS) was introduced to help ensure good quality products and installations. By setting robust standards the industry can continue to develop with confidence.
Effective Home has been assessed in accordance with the requirements of MCS001 and the appropriate MIS standards listed below to undertake the supply, design, installation, set to work, commissioning and handover of Microgeneration Systems.
TrustMark is the Government Endorsed Quality Scheme that covers work a consumer chooses to have carried out in or around their home.
Effective Home is accredited by TrustMark, and can take part in the Green Homes Grant scheme which covers green home improvements ranging from insulation of walls, floors and roofs, to the installation of low-carbon heating, like heat pumps or solar thermal – measures that could help families save up to £600 a year on their energy bills.
When you choose a TrustMark Registered Business, you are dealing with an organisation that has been thoroughly vetted to meet required standards, and has made a commitment to good customer service.
Green Deal is the name of a Government initiative to encourage homeowners, tenants and landlords to make energy improvements to their properties.
To become a Green Deal approved installer, our business underwent a rigorous authorisation process to ensure that our customers receive the highest standards possible on their install.
NICEIC provides assessment and certification services for contractors working across the building services sectors. They assess electricians, renewable energy installers, plumbers and gas and heating engineers.
As a contractor registered with NICEIC, Effective Home is regularly assessed to ensure the work that we do is safe and installed to the highest industry standards.
OFTEC is the Oil Firing Technical Association. It is a ‘competent persons scheme’ that recognises companies approved to install oil, solid fuel and renewable heating equipment and to main oil and solid fuel systems.
In order to become OFTEC registered, Effective Home completed an approved training course and passed an assessment. We are reassessed regularly by OFTEC to ensure we continue to meet the required working standards to remain OFTEC registered.
Choosing an OFTEC registered installer means that you will receive an official certificate to confirm that the work done for us meets the official industry standards for safety and quality.
Gas Safe Register is the only official gas registration body of gas businesses and engineers in the United Kingdom, Isle of Man and Guernsey. By law, all gas businesses must be on the Gas Safe Register – Effective Home has been on it for 3 years.
A gas engineer can only be aligned to a registered business and be issued with a license to undertake gas work on behalf of a registered business if they hold a valid and current qualification, which ours do. This evidence of competence relates only to matters of gas safety and is obtained by every engineer through a recognised route of training and assessment.
HIES is a consumer protection organisation covering the installation of renewable energy and home energy efficiency products. By respecting, protecting and educating consumers their aim is to transform consumer protection within the home energy market.
To become a member, Effective Home endured a rigorous accreditation process to join their trusted network of installers. Having been approved, our business is subject to annual vetting to ensure we are adhering to the HIES scheme rules and code of practice.
EPVS is a certification standard that certifies the processes used by our installers to ensure energy saving, generating and/or storing calculations/estimates for home energy products are accurate and valid.
They aim to protect consumers from receiving overinflated figures from installers when making a purchase by sampling the contractual paperwork to ensure it meets their certification standard.
CHAS (The Contractors Health and Safety Assessment Scheme) is a pre-approval scheme, which allows Effective Home, as a contractor, to demonstrate to potential clients that we meet the required health and safety standards.
CHAS is the UK’s leading provider of risk prevention, compliance and supply chain management services for clients and contractors.
Effective Home is Qualitymark accredited by an organisation that has been actively safeguarding consumer investments in home improvements since 1996. In this time, they’ve helped the home improvement industry raise installation standards, strengthened the vetting and accreditation procedures, while providing consumers with quality financial protection for their home improvements.
They specialise in the supply of deposit and stage payment protection insurance and insurance backed guarantees for the home improvement industry.
